    Description

    Offered here is a great piece of political memorabilia in the form of a dated (1948) red, white and blue mechanical pencil that was a gift from the Iowa delegation at the Republican National Convention at which Thomas Dewey was nominated to run for President.
    The pencil has the GOP elephant logo on it and the following words:
    REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION
    Philadelphia, PA June, 1948
    Compliments of
    THE IOWA DELEGATION
    I have not tried to see if it works but outwardly it is in good condition.  The eraser has dried over the years in the way that pencil erasers do.
